The Capestone Lake shared path in Mango Hill, Queensland has been successfully delivered for the City of Moreton Bay, providing a vital new connection between Capestone Boulevard and the Capestone Shopping Centre. Constructed by AllenCon Pty Ltd, the 48m x 3m structure enhances safe, convenient pedestrian access for the local community, supporting both connectivity and accessibility in this growing area.
Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT) played a key role in the project, designing, manufacturing and prefabricating six Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) ramp segments. In a unique approach, each segment was individually fabricated to match the precise slope requirements of the installation site, resulting in a highly customised and efficient assembly. This tailored design not only ensured a perfect fit but also streamlined the installation process on site.
The use of FRP materials offered significant performance advantages. With an expected design life of 100 years, the structure is highly durable and resistant to rot, rust, corrosion, termites and acid sulfate soils. Its lightweight nature improved safety during handling and installation while enabling faster construction times. These qualities, combined with reduced maintenance requirements, make FRP a cost-effective solution over the life of the asset.
Now fully operational since early 2026, the Capestone Lake shared path stands as a strong example of innovative infrastructure delivery using advanced composite materials. The project highlights the efficiency of modular prefabrication and the value of collaborative partnerships, with AllenCon Pty Ltd delivering installation and contributing to a smooth construction process. This project not only meets immediate community needs but also provides a long-lasting, low-maintenance asset for years to come.
