The City of Waneroo in Western Australia has done works on the stair accesses to Jindalee Beach in Jindalee replacing infrastructure that had reached the end of its serviceable life in favour of Wagners CFT Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) with an expected design life of 100-years.
Designed by M P Rogers & Associates and installed by Terpstra Constructions for the City of Waneroo, works included the replacement of timber beach access stairs to improve safety and accessibility.
Stretching along the Indian Ocean, Jindalee features long white sandy beaches, rocky limestone outcrops and native coastal vegetation. It’s celebrated for its stunning oceanfront setting and natural beauty.
At Jindalee Beach, you can swim in the clear waters or relax on the soft sand while enjoying the coastal views. It’s also a great place for a peaceful walk, some casual fishing or watching the sunset over the ocean.
FRP is the perfect solution for the beach access stairs at Jindalee Beach because it’s:
- Durable – with an expected 100-year design life
- Inert – fully resistant to rot, rust and corrosion
- Non-leaching and non-toxic – safe for marine environments
- Lightweight – making it safer to handle, transport and install
- Resistant – to termites, acid sulfate soils and marine borers
- Cost effective – with reduced maintenance and replacement cycles resulting in significant savings over the lifetime of the structure
