Dalgety Street Woolgoolga cycle and footbridge is a 114m x 2.5m Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) boardwalk located in Woolgoolga. Woolgoolga (also known as “Woopi”) is a charming coastal town on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. The cycle and footbridge connect West Woolgoolga to Dalgety Street and Nash Street, providing easier and faster access to Woopi’s CBD and the beach.
Wagners CFT manufactured the FRP profiles for AS Engineering and Mid North Coast Contractors, with Mid North Coast Contractors completing the installation. The boardwalk utilises FRP materials, which are known for their durable, inert and lightweight benefits. FRP also offers a sustainable and low-maintenance solution compared to traditional construction materials. Construction was completed in July 2025.
This project is a crucial component of the City of Coffs Harbour’s planned path network for West Woolgoolga, aiming to enhance safety and accessibility for residents traveling to key local destinations. The network will eventually link West Woolgoolga’s residential areas to Solitary Islands Way shopping and business precinct, Wiigulga Sports Complex and future residential developments around Newmans Road and Bark Hut Road.
Benefits of using Wagners FRP for this project include:
- Durable – with an expected 100-year design life
- Inert – fully resistant to rot, rust and corrosion
- Lightweight – making it safer to handle, transport and install
- Cost effective – with reduced maintenance and replacement cycles resulting in significant savings over the lifetime of the structure
